hi there,
is there a data sheet on the BOC? i already own an Enntec open DMX usb controller and would love to get this board to make a pore mans sequence. my though is to remove my old scary terry servo board and replace it with this. then i can control the eye color and the par can lights too. does this sound lie it would work? i would love to out right buy the whole skull kit but it would eat up almost all of my budget.

thanks,
Randell

No we don't exactly have a data sheet, there are instructions and the configuration software that comes with it.

The scary terry board you are talking about is the sound to motion board? if this is the case then you would need to use the sound to motion functions inside VSA to drive the jaw or you can program the motions manually.

Yes you will be able to use the BoC to control eye colour, and you would place your prop on the same DMX chain as your DMX par lights

cool! yes, it is the sound to motion board. it gets the job done but at times not all that realistic.
so i guess i need a little sales help here. right now i have a Bucky with a single servo on the jaw. if I buy the BoC then I get the RGB LEDs for the eyes, and the board. Right?
will I still need to buy the programing software separately?

what i am trying to create is a talking Bucky with one servo, color change eyes, ability to control a 2 way air valve via relays and to change room lighting via par cans on a DMX dimmer pack or second set of super bright RGB LEDs. and all of this follow along with an audio track.

The programming software would be Brookshire Softwares VSA, and you will also need an Enttec open USB DMX device, both need to be purchased separately

To program the jaw motion you would need to program each jaw motion in VSA to match the sound track (or used VSA's sound to motion module). Manual programming  can be a labour intensive process but the end results are much better than normally obtainable with a sound to motion board.

The LEDs for the eyes come with the BoC, and you can program their colour changes in the same routine file as the jaw motion, as well as the DMX lights and relays to control your effects.

Ok. I do already have an Enttec open USB box. So I would just need the BoCand VSA software. Cool. Thanks.

the only issue we are aware of is that some servos are particularly power hungry, in such cases we recommend that yo use additional power supplies to ensure that your servos have enough power without compromising the power requirements of the servo control board.

It is possible to use multiple power supplies, the only thing you have to ensure is that you connect all the ground connections together.
