Looking sideways instead of forward

It seems like the pan servo function on my skull has lost it's home (default direction)...the device settings in VSA are correct...appears to be something to do with the bolt on the neck...can anyone tell me how to readjust the skull (or probably the neck bolt) so the default pan is centered facing front again?

sound like the grub screw has come loose.

If you power the skull down and carefully raise the head and open the jaw you will see a grub screw in the front of the neck, you need to recentre the neck bolt and tighten this.

Hi Dooblehorn,

If you look at the screw at the bottom of the neck, (on the direct opposite side from the spine vertebrae), is it staying centered on whatever steel rod you have it mounted on?  Or is it shifting to one side or the other.

Please note that there are two screws in the neck, one at the bottom and one at the top of the neck.

If the bottom one is shifting, you simply need to turn the neck to center it again and then tighten the lower screw, (and only the lower screw).

If the bottom screw is staying centered and the head defaults to a position other than centered, then, and only then, adjust the top screw.

The top screw does not need to be tightened or loosened when mounting the skull, just the bottom one.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Bryan and Mike, thanks!
Mike, yes, the steel rod mounting screw is staying centered...I'll check the grub and see if that helps, and if not, carefully (!) check the top screw Smile
Thanks again for your help!

it's not working...can one of you guys explain in detail how I can center it? Tomorrow's Halloweeen, and I would sure like to use it...I've loosened the grub (top?) screw, and turned the head carefully, using a wrench on the bolt, then tightened the grub screw...the neutral position of the head is still facing left no matter what I do... Crying or Very sad

ok, Jerry kindly explained the missing step here...loosen the top screw,  then open the VSA template file and backspace to center the servos,
then turn the head to proper position and tighten the top screw..

Thanks Jerry and everyone!
