IMPORTANT! Skull Revisions as of 1/1/2009We have had multiple problems with the jaw and tilt servos built in the last 6 months by GWS. Those servos have now been replaced in the SkullTroniX skulls with Hitec HS-475 servos. The Hitecs are full sized servos that require new plastic parts inside the skull. We don't warranty the servos but we can help with the replacement.
The Hitec servos turn in the opposite direction from the GWS servos. That requires the BOC control board to be reprogrammed at our shop and your animation routines also need to be changed. If you return your skull for the replacement be sure to include a CD or DVD with your routines on it. We will reprogram the BOC and make the modifications to your routines for free. You will also get new programming instructions that document the changes.
If you would like to upgrade we will perform the swap for free and pay for the new plastic parts but you have to pay the cost of shipping both ways and $12 each for the two new servos (wholesale price).
We are also working on a "heavy duty" version of the skull that uses much more expensive coreless motors and many other revisions. If you are interested in running a skull all year this is the skull for you. Call about the details and release date. It won't be cheap since the new servos cost 10 times as much.
