If your new to automation a Reset may seem a strange control, after all, why not just simply have the routine automatically reset at the end, why force people to set this additional control.
The important thing to remember about reset is that once a routine is played it is not armed for the next trigger until after the routine has been reset.
Of course using Routine Done as a reset will do exactly this and it is really a matter or preference and exactly how your haunt is designed, but using routine Done in this way is really not my favored method of resetting, and heres why
1) guests come along and step on mat
2) routine plays
3) routine finishes
4) routine resets
5) guests walk away and one of them steps on mat
6) routine plays
7) next group of guests come along to see the middle/end of routine.....
The best simple way to reset is to use a dead zone timer, this is a timer that starts on routine end, runs for maybe 15 seconds and on completion resets the routine, this gives your guests 15 seconds to clear out the way before the system becomes active again.
