Sent my skull back to be upgraded from usb to dmx due to many usb errors from last season, plus saving my pennies for a future skeletron purchase perhaps.

Got the skull back, but the eye mount is free floating in the skull (matter of fact the eyes are pointed up and on the top of the inside of the skull cap.  Looking through the eye sockets and can also see an unconnected wire with a black connector.  Looks like it is from the servo on the very back of the skull.

Moreover, there was supposed to be some sort of adapter that hooks up the set of two wires coming out of the neck to the DMX/entex(spelling ?) usb hook up...that was not with the skull.  I see no way of hooking up the two black connectors to the DMX without some sort of an adapter.

Should I contact Jerry and send back the skull ?

I hope it would get back before halloween, I sent the skull for the upgrade in early July and got it back today.

What should I do ????

No worries, Ocula.

Jerry'll take good care of you.  Your skull will indeed be performing for you and your guests on Halloween.

If ever a skull is received having been damaged in shipping, give Jerry a call right away.  Sometimes the fix might be simple enough for him to walk you through it over the phone.  Sometimes it may require shipping it back.

Most importantly, never wait until the last minute to hook up and test your skull.  You don't want to find out at 5pm on Halloween night that your skull got damaged in shipping!  ; )

called Jerry and as usual I got to talk with him the same day.  He desires to get the skull back to repair it and will send me a note on how to get the dmx connections to work.  So once again, an A+ (as usual) from skulltronix.

BTW, how do the two cords (not the other power cords), that go to the dmx eyes (two black connectors), get hooked up ?  I don't see any adapter to go from the skull to the computer.

The skull fits onto the same DMX chain as the lights. so you can connect the skull to the lights using the 3 pin DMX cable which in turn connect to the computer

You are correct sir!

Let Jerry know and he'll be sure to ship you out the half of the cables that carry the XLR cannon plugs.   No worries!  : )

OK got some issues.  All new routines are made with VSA 4, I got my VSA from last year and when I run the new routines it says these routines were made from a new version and might not work.  After configuring the port and setting things to the correct ports, then I get a screen with a ton of configuration errors.  It asks to fix or ignore, attempting to fix doesn't work.  If I upgraded the skull, shouldn't I get the upgraded version of VSA ?  I went to the Brookshire site and can only download a demo version.

Next, the set-up seems straight forward.  DMX skull with DMX lights.  Enttec USB into the computer.  One of the skull lights connectors into the ENTTEC USB with the 3 to 5 pin converter.  Then the other three pin female connector to the DMX light DMX in, use the long DMX cable to the DMX out to the other DMX light DMX in and the use the DMX terminator on the DMX out.  The one question I have, is.............coming out of the skull there are the two DMX connectors and the power connection, then there is black box with a single female speaker like connector.  What is that for ?????

One other observation, after re-mounting the skull to the bucky, I noticed the range of motion going straight back (skull looking up -- anterioposterior movement) is not as great as it was prior to the upgrade.  His motion is now about parallel to the collar bone plane with respect to his inferior border of his mandible)----meaning can't tilt back beyond perpendicular to the ground.  Is the normal ??

Thanks in advance
