Can you explain how you would control the 8 different soundtracks through the software and also the hardware. All the sound cards I have found don't seam to support 8 outputs just 4 ins & 4 outs. Is there a link to a specific sound card you would recomend?
Thanks,

You are looking for a 5.1 or 7.1 sound card here a link to the one I use, sorry its a UK supplier, but I'm sure you can find the same in the US

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.as...riteria=sound%20card&doy=27m6

And here is a USB 5.1 card (only 6 inputs) for laptops.... but if you are really looking to make the most out of sound this way I recommend using a decent desktop over a laptop

http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=97120&doy=27m6

You control the channels the sound plays from by mixing the sound file to play out of specific speakers, I wrote some software to help you do this last year, and you can find more info here

http://www.mordor.plus.com/Audio.html

When you set-up Exorcist and VSA the trick is to remove the sound file from the VSA routine and assign your remixed file to one of the Exorcist sound players, VSA cant handle surround sound, Exorcist can.

You then use Exorcist to trigger the sound file and the VSA routine simultaneously.

Alright... I'm sure this will end up being the dumb qustion of the year, but how does the card output 8 channels? I only count 6 phono jacks, and it says one of them is a mic input! What am I missing? Don't you need 8 output jacks?

They are stereo jacks

4 of the jacks are the speaker outputs

Woofer/central
front left/front right
rear left/rear right
aux left/aux right

the other 2 are mic input and line input
