Well it looks like this is the best place to post the basics of what I want to create in order to determine exactly what components I need. I should also say that I have zero experience with relays, controllers, timers...etc.

So I have six (6) scenes that I need to animate throughout an indoor blacklight mini golf course.

1) Hopping Octopus (bought ready made) Prop came with pico-boo and PIR. What this prop lacks ( i think) is the ability for me to set a "latent" time, or a time in which the activating PIR will not trigger the prop.

2) Monster in the Box - WW motor driven, and needs audio. Will be PIR triggered or pressure mat triggered. Needs the ability of a latent time between triggers.

3) Two (2) Air Connons - Fog machines (no need audio)

4) Mummy leaning forward with fog machine, sound.

5) Simple fluid pump to be activated for 1-2- minutes.

6) Falling Mast Prop - (This prop is across from the cannons which are mounted on the pirate ship adjacent the one with the falling mast) I need a W.W. motor to be activated 2 second after the aft cannon fires. The action of this motor will create the mast to begin to fall from the center (where it is hinged). Sound needs to be activated simultaneously. Activation for maybe 3-5 seconds, both motor and audio. one minute later I need to activate a different motor to wind the cable which via pulleys resets the mast in its original position.

So far I think I can accomplish this set up with the following:

Exorsist
BOC
LapTop
Relays (although I know nothing about them, or how many I need)
IR Timers (enough for each prop)

Also this country has ONLY 220V. For 110V I would need an auto voltage regulator.

I need to know hot to power the 12V w.w. motors. computer power supply? since they accept 220V.

I need help with anything else I would need to set this up.

Bravo

OK..... everything can be easily controlled with DMXorcist.

you don't need any axillary timers, Exorcist has these built in, all you need is the PIR sensors or mat switches.

For relays you need to use a DMX relay board, here take a look at this thread for my Monster ina box for what I use

Oh, btw, being British myself I am fully aware of the issues of 220-240VAC, and can confirm that I have 220VAC solutions for everything

Great Phoenix,

Thanks for the rapid reply. Disregard my last email as I see you have already recommended the relays.

Yeah 220V here is still foreign, even after being here for 4 years. Glad you can help.

here is an idea of what I would recommend to get this system up and running.. I could actually supply everything preconfigured for you.

1 off VSA
1 off DMXorcist
1 off Enttec USB Pro
3 off Milford DMX 8 channel relay boards +12VDC
1 off Desktop PC with 7.1 sound card (better than Laptop
6 off DMX cables

Additionally you can add as many DMX lights and fig machines as you desire, DMXorcist can take 8 inputs in standard configuration, and there is an advanced configuration that can take 14 inputs.

Note that the more DMX devices you have then it becomes increasingly likely that you need a DMX repeater, under normal circumstances you can connect 32 devices before needing a repeater.

Great...can you pm, or email me a price list on the components? On second thought, would you mind including an additional quote for the SkullTronix animated talking skull with all of your recommendations.

A fair number of the components which I need are included with the SkullTronix, so I might as well consider adding the animated skull.

Last Halloween I had a great time with my yard haunt but would like to simplify it more this year by using a DMXcontroller. I just want to make sure I am purchasing it for the right reasons.

I have a mad scientist that I want to animate along with his assistant. My question is can I create more than one playback for that scene so it would not be the same playback each time?

Thank you,

Leo
