Hello,
By now we hope you have seen our web site at http://skulltronix.com and you are familiar with our products.

My name is Jerry Jewell. I designed the SkullTroniX hardware and my cohort in crime is Mike Fox who provides the voices and animation.

A little history: I've been running a haunt for many years and over 10 years ago it was converted from a home haunt to a non-profit teen leadership program called Scary U. While working on Scary U we developed some effective but mechanically crude talking skulls for our own use.

During the set up of our haunt in 2004 I was stricken with a pretty severe case of Lupus and became disabled. I was forced to sell my businesses and went on disability. One of my symptoms was a carpal tunnel like paralysis and numbness in the hands. After some months of recovery I went into enough remission that I decided to take on the task of designing a truly cool talking skull that could be resold. I'd kill two birds: therapy (mental and physical) and income working at home.

Well, the skull was a great success and after 18 months of constant development and tens of thousands of development dollars I progressed from the first version to what is now known as Rev 3.

Manufacturing is still difficult because the skull parts are all hand poured into silicone molds. Each skull takes over 30 hours to make, plus hundreds of dollars in electronics, bearings, nuts, bolts and screws. I actually moved the operation out of my garage this year and now have a professional shop set up nearby.

The cost and time keep the price high, but the SkullTroniX is a far superior and much different product to the other talking skulls that are being sold today.

Knowing competition might rear it's ugly head we are continuing to make add on products that enhance and differentiate the SkullTroniX product line. I am also developing other animatronics that will be released once we get from prototypes to production versions.

We've had great feedback from the Haunt community and even won the Haunt X award for Best Haunt Product of 2006.

I'm always willing to talk haunts with anyone who will listen (my wife won't) and always willing to share ideas. Many of your ideas can and should be made into commercial products so if you have a great project and are looking for a way to get it to market let's discuss it. A great example of such a partnership is the soon to be announced Exorcist which is a co-developed project with Phoenix (aka Bryan). See his profile elsewhere on this forum.

If you have any questions about our project please peruse this site or just give a call or an email.

Best regards,

Jerry Jewell
